Okay I’m not going to lie I did set an alarm 10 minutes before the palette went on sale and sat at my computer waiting to press refresh on the page once the clock changed. They were the longest 10 minutes of my life, but I have to admit that it was worth it as I’m in love with this palette.
So here we go…
I may or may not have bought 2 of the palettes! To me the packaging it clean, clear and elegant. The simplistic design fits in with her brand XoBeauty and YouTube channel, as it was inspired by the lights in the back of Shannons’ videos.
Each side of the packaging holds different products, the darker coloured side is the lipsticks and the lighter side is the eyeshadows. The pattern on the palette is the same as the box. The magnet that keeps the box together is quit strong and I’m sure that it will hold up for a looong time.
The is my two palettes so you can see all the colour and product that you get.
On each side of the palette is a mirror. On the eyeshadow side is a large square mirror whereas the lipstick side is a smaller more rectangular shape so that you can see your lips better whilst apply the colour. I like this little detail as it allows you two different mirror size options and you don’t have to change side to apply the product if there was only one mirror.
Close ups of both sides of the palette. Here you get a good idea of the colours. i like the range of colours as I believe that they will look good on any skin tone. There are four matte eyeshadows and five shimmery colours that all compliment each other.
To be honest I was not expecting the eyeshadows to be so pigmented and creamy but wow you should have seen my face when I did the very first swatch. I was no less then amazed!!! I have to admit I fell in love. So in the picture above I swatched the eyeshadows going from left to right starting in the top left hand corner. The array of eyeshadows will allow for many different combinations and looks which I can’t wait to discover.
In the picture above I did my make up using the palette. I really like how it turned out.
Again with the lipsticks I went form left to right starting in the top let hand corner. Do I love the lipsticks as much as the eyeshadows, no but do I still think they are great, yes. Okay so you might be able to tell I’m not the best at applying lipstick with a lip brush but I did my best and I think they look pretty good. Unfortunately though my camera wasn’t quit picking up the colours as they truly are, so a few of the colours look a little similar and I’m going to tell you now that they aren’t! Each colour is different, they are at least a couple of shades different in the nudes and each of them has a slightly different under tone but my stupid camera didn’t seem to want to capture the true beauty of the lipsticks.
The wear of the lipsticks is alright, they do fade as they are quit creamy but I find that they do stain your lips so, when they do fade it happens nicely and doesn’t leave you lips looking patchy.
Do I think the palette is worth purchasing? YES! I’m really happy with mine and I know I’m going to use them to death that’s generally why I bought two. I can’t wait to really get into the palettes and make my eyes and lips look stunning using the array of new colours I have to add to my collection especially as its portable.
The palette is currently priced at $14.50 about £9.88. So its less the £10!!!!!
Although the original price was $22 about £14.99 so I would get yours now whist its still discounted as I truly think its worth purchasing.
